Handcrafted in Italy
Benny's frames are handcrafted by the finest artisans in Italy. Each component is meticulously assembled by hand. Hinges, temples, and metal details are fixed with precision, ensuring a robust and durable structure. This step highlights the attention to detail and the artisanal quality typical of Made in Italy.
Ultra-High Quality Materials
The process begins with the selection of the finest sheets of Italian cellulose acetate, a natural and hypoallergenic material derived from cotton and wood pulp.
This material is renowned for its exceptional lightness, flexibility, and durability. The sheets are carefully chosen to ensure vibrant colors and extraordinary transparency.
The acetate sheets are precisely cut using computer numerical control (CNC) machines. This crucial step ensures that every part of the eyewear, from the frames to the smallest details, is exact to the millimeter, guaranteeing a perfect fit.
Smoothing & Polishing
The fronts and temples, not yet assembled, undergo a natural tumbling process. This involves slow and continuous erosion using a motorized machine with four tanks, each filled with different shapes and wood essences mixed with a suitable paste.
Each stage lasts 12 to 20 hours, smoothing and polishing the acetate. Matte eyewear finishes after two stages, while shiny frames undergo additional polishing for a mirrored effect.
After tumbling, the components are shaped and molded through heating and bending processes, thus achieving the desired form for each eyewear model. Italian artisans, with their mastery, add a unique touch to each piece, ensuring that every pair of glasses is a work of art.
